CQAF VET

CQAF VET is a specialist model specifically for education and training. It is based on what practitioners as well as researchers generally consider as important issues that need to be in good order to be able to deliver education or training for the purpose it intends to meet. It is therefore strongly focussed on outcome, real evidence and continuous improvement. The model offers a good opportunity to compare the quality of similar education and training between different countries. It supports the focus of all staff on their contribution to a good outcome of education and training.

The model explained
To ensure quality of vocational education and training the CQAF-VET model distinguishes three major axes which contribute to a desired outcome of learning processes. The first axe relates to essential themes regarding the (determination of) content and learning methodologies to be used. The second axe relates to some vital organizational themes that are essential for the delivery of education and training. And the third axe covers important themes that address issues of the learner. Each of these themes (12) have been defined and indicators have been distinguished that steer quality development of the whole educational program on that specific theme, and enable organizations to give proof that they have taken good care of that specific theme. Thus the model can be used as a monitor and assurance instrument for assessment of Quality at a EU-level as well as for the (further) development of the organizations own quality system. The model incorporates a total of 28 indicators to monitor and assess quality assurance measures (to be) taken at a basic level (1) as well as at a more sophisticated level (up to level 4 of an indicator). Most important in its focus the model helps to demonstrate what people and staff actually do.

Development
The model is developed and tested in twenty different training organizations within five European countries. CQAF VET has been developed in a close collaboration between Folkuniversitetet (Sweden), Dimitra (Greece), Documenta (Spain), EdItc (Cyprus) and Revalento (Netherlands).  For more information contact Revalento
